Amanda Cloninger is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with adolescents and their families. She received her master's degree in clinical social work from Smith College, and post-graduate training in the advanced treatment of adolescents at New York University.
Prior to relocating to the Washington D.C. area, Amanda treated children, adolescents and adults at a group practice in Manhattan. She has experience providing in-home therapy to high-risk teens and their families in New York City, and has worked in intensive outpatient settings treating substance use and mental health in both adolescent and young adult populations.
Amanda blends behavioral modalities of DBT and ACT with a collaborative, relational approach to help teens navigate the social and emotional challenges of today's world. She is passionate about helping families make the changes needed to gain greater satisfaction and stability in their lives.
